Position Function

C+R Research is looking for a Project Manager for our Field department, housed within our Operations department.  The Project Manager is responsible for fielding multiple marketing research studies from kickoff to final billing; consulting with analysts, coordinating with Operations, and managing vendors.

Position Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Proactive management of internal and external communication for projects across all data collection methodologies:
    • Online
    • CLT
    • In-person
    • Telephone
    • Mall intercept
    • Learn the Fulcrum sample distribution and management system
    • Confirmation of job specifics, set-up of internal resources, depending on project and analyst requests.
  • Attend kick-off meetings with internal team members and vendors.
  • Provide actionable project status updates
  • Contribute to vendor approval vetting process
  • Independently handle all communication regarding set-up, timing, etc. with data collection partners.
  • Communication with programmers and/or project management staff if programming is being done by vendor.
  • Launching of all online projects, including facilitation of testing of links, communication with other Data Management staff for mail-out numbers, timing, etc. and overseeing actual launch of projects.
  • Communication with telephone data collection partners including project briefing, monitoring and data quality
  • Communication with mall data collection partners including, when required, on-site audits, validation/validation analysis, summary reporting
  • Management of research projects while in field:
  1. Aggregation and reviewing of daily updates for all projects.
    • Develop actionable proactive game plan as challenges present
      • Work with senior-level team members to develop problem solving analyses
  2. Provide timely updates to analysts using DimensionNet, Desktop Reporter or other online summary tools
    • Includes providing re-bid information if necessary.
  3. Coach data collection partners on turning break offs into completes.
  4. Quota management
    • Proactively solve quota management challenges by working with data collection partner to resolve issues.
      • Can include movement of quota among different vendors, updating quotas to jobs, etc.)
      • Communication with analyst regarding quota management
      • Able to provide solutions unique to data collection method
  5. Managing data sends or pulls with internal and external staff depending on job type.
  6. Pulling simple data using DM Query and internal EXE application
  • Sample Management for projects (with the help of online supplier or sample vendor):
  1. Solid understanding of proper sampling practices across methodologies
  2. Ensure the selection of sampling procedures has been correctly followed.
  3. Collaborate with internal staff (analysts, panel, programming, field) regarding sampling needs and sample design.
  4. Advise internal teams on online sample availability based on demographic needs in client requests.
  5. Provide cost estimates and project scheduling.
  6. Monitor performance of samples on a job-by-job basis and across jobs.
  • Prepare and monitor cost estimates for projects and monitor actual expenses
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure the required quality standards are met.
  • Take immediate corrective actions to keep projects on track and inform the immediate manager of any possible delays or problems during fieldwork
  • Define expected results and use performance indicators and other processes/systems to monitor and track projects completion are within timeframe and budge targets.

Other Duties:

  • Keep abreast of industry changes.
  • Share knowledge and experience with internal field team and C+R staff at large.
  • Special projects as required.
Skills & Experience
  • 2-5 years experience in a marketing research data collections, quality control and field management experience.
  • Knowledge of market research industry and experience in consumer research methodologies.
  • Sound analytic skills and ability to handle large volumes of data
  • Good negotiation, project management and communications skills
  • Ability to juggle numerous concurrent projects and tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with SQL and databases.
  • Significant, hands-on experience using Microsoft Office products
Education
Bachelors degree or equivalent.
