C+R Research is looking for a Qualitative Senior Research Analyst for our Qualitative Research department in our Chicago, IL office.  The Qualitative Senior Research Analyst will coordinate with C+R’s moderators and work independently with regard to the design, execution and analysis of in-person qualitative research projects. This position will also work in a team environment with each of the experienced moderators and C+R’s field support staff to participate in the processes, practices and methodologies of face-to-face qualitative research.  

Position Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Set up and moderate focus groups, ethnographies, shop-alongs, webcam interviews, and other qualitative projects alongside and under the supervision of C+R senior moderators.
  • Work independently and with C+R moderators on qualitative research projects by interfacing with Field Department staff to develop screening questionnaires, coordinate respondent recruitment, select research sites and assemble project materials.
  • Develop discussion guides, stimuli, homework assignments and other project materials, as warranted, on individual projects.
  • Participate in the development of written reports and analyses based on interview transcripts/video, diaries/journals, and other data. 
  • Travel to field locations, as needed, to moderate and/or handle project set-up, client management, and taking notes/recording observations, etc.
  • Manage projects to ensure they are moving forward when the senior moderator is absent or unavailable.
  • Attend client meetings and presentations as needed.

Other Duties:

  • Contribute to the overall organization by contributing ideas and suggestions for improving C+R’s processes and/or products and services.
  • Keep abreast of industry changes.
  • Special projects as required.
  • Regular attendance.
Skills & Experience
  • 4-7 years experience in marketing research at either a supplier or field service preferred.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish speaker a plus.
  • Multi-cultural, innovation, kids/teens, online/mobile qualitative, B2B, and UX/Usability experience a plus.
  • Experience with a variety of qualitative methods and technologies
  • Must have demonstrated leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.  
  • Proficient with MS Office (particularly Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Marketing Research, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Communication or other related field
Working Condition & Benefits
