The Senior Qualitative Research Analyst will coordinate with C+R’s moderators and work independently with regard to the design, execution and analysis of in-person and webcam-based qualitative research projects. They will work in a team environment with each of the experienced moderators and operations team to participate in the processes, practices and methodologies of face-to-face qualitative research.

Essential Duties:

  • Set up, moderate, and manage focus groups, IDIs, in-home interviews/ethnographies, shop-alongs, and other qualitative projects (in person or remote) alongside and under the supervision of C+R senior moderators.
  • Work independently and with C+R moderators on qualitative research projects by interfacing with the operations team to develop screening questionnaires, coordinate respondent recruitment, select research sites and assemble project materials.
  • Develop simple discussion guides, stimuli, homework assignments and other project materials, as warranted, on individual projects.
  • Participate in the development of written reports and analyses based on fieldwork, interview transcripts/video, diaries/journals, and other data.
  • Travel to field locations, as needed, to moderate and/or execute project set-up, assist with client management, and take notes/record observations, etc.
  • Manage projects to ensure recruitment and timelines are met when the senior moderator is absent or unavailable.
  • Work collaboratively with a senior moderator on writing final reports, including key insights, writing conclusions, and identifying opportunities and tactical recommendations that address our clients’ business issues.
  • Attend client meetings and presentations as needed.

Skills and experience

  • 4-7 years’ experience in marketing research at either a supplier or field service company.
  • Experience with a variety of qualitative methods and technologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Ability to juggle numerous concurrent projects and tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A passion for consumer research.
  • Enthusiastic, engaged, and positive attitude.

education required

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, Marketing Research, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Communication or other related field.
