Senior Director, Online Qualitative Research
position functions
Using proven market research experience, the Online Qualitative Senior Research Director is responsible for proposing and overseeing the day-to-day execution and analysis of online qualitative research projects to address marketing issues. The Senior Research Director manages processes and procedures in order to ensure that all operational aspects of projects are executed accurately and timely. Assist in exploring and adopting new technologies and/or tools that improve the exceptional research for which C+R is known.

Essential Duties:
- Lead discussions with clients to identify clear, concise project objectives and appropriate online qualitative research strategy.
- Respond to Request for Proposal (RFP) through a written proposal that outlines a recommended research design, timing and cost.
- Manage and mentor online research analysts in the execution of projects for clients.
Project Management:
- Monitor project timeline.
- Ensure all project materials are prepared with high quality standards (e.g., screeners, discussion guides).
- Effectively manage data throughout project to develop relevant, insightful findings.
- Lead quality control for each project, including effective communication across all parties to ensure exemplary outcomes.
Overseeing Qualitative Project Management
- Mentor analysts to facilitate productive online discussions that help clients better understand consumer behavior.
- Lead translation of respondent input into marketing solutions that are relevant to client projects.
- Provide guidance and support to analysts moderating boards to ensure research objectives are met.
- Moderate live webcam interviews when applicable.
Overseeing Analysis/Report Writing
- Manage analysts in order to develop exemplary final reports including analytic plan development, presentation set-up, data posting, data analysis and editorial write up. This also includes writing conclusions and identifying opportunities or recommendations that address client’s business issues.
- Ability to translate findings in to actionable, strategic recommendations for clients with any level of project or business objective complexity.
- Lead and provide guidance to analysts in presenting findings to clients.
Client Service:
- Maintain client relationships and generate new projects by understanding client business objectives and managing client expectations.
- Contribute to the promotion of C+R and generate new business through proactive business development efforts and thought leadership initiatives, e.g., attending conferences, presenting to current and prospective clients at conferences, webinars, etc.
- Lead the training of operations and analyst team on guidelines and procedures of department.
- Mentor and manage Analysts. Provide direction, training on research processes and methods, and administer appropriate development opportunities, including giving constructive and timely feedback regarding successes and areas for improvement.
Other Duties:
- Working with other quantitative analysts in managing and meeting the overall project goals, objectives, and client management.
- Keep up-to-date and knowledgeable about clients’ businesses, industries and/or customers, marketing research, and technological advancements.
- Contribute to the overall organization by offering ideas and suggestions for improving processes and/or C+R’s products and services.
- Share knowledge, experience, ideas for improvement with C+R team.
- Aid in the implementation of plans due to industry changes, new tools, methods.
- Exhibit exemplary standards for quality, professionalism, positivity.
- Exhibit C+R values with team, clients, vendors/partners, etc.
- Motivate and proactively support colleagues, across all teams and departments.
- Aid in the management of team workload.
- Special projects as required.
- Regular attendance.
Skills and experience
- 10+ years supplier side, hands-on experience specifically conducting custom online qualitative research across a wide variety of methods – online discussions, mobile missions, journals, digital ethnographies, webcam interviews, etc.
- Proven client management experience with a consultative, partnership model focus.
- Excellent online moderating skills.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate employees with various skill levels and strengths.
- Attention to detail and accuracy especially when working on multiple projects at a time.
- Resourceful self-starter with an inquisitive mind and a passion for consumer research.
- Enthusiastic, engaged, and positive attitude.
- Significant, hands-on experience using Microsoft Office products.
- Familiarity with various online platforms and support software such as Recollective, Civicom, Qualboard, and Digsite.

Bachelor’s in Marketing, Marketing Research, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, or other related field.
