meet Lisa

Lisa has spent over ten years designing research to address her clients’ most pressing business issues and translating the findings into strategic insights that support business development.  She has extensive experience with custom research methods including segmentation, brand equity/positioning, concept optimization, new product/communications development, shopper journey, and barrier/opportunity analysis.  Her experience spans numerous industries, including CPG, retail, restaurant, financial services, health/pharma, entertainment, telecommunications, and home improvement.

Lisa specializes in quantitative research and multi-phase hybrid initiatives.  She is skilled in identifying the category, consumer and shopper insights that drive corporate marketing decisions and bringing those insights to life via top-notch data visualizations and infographics.

Lisa is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Michigan, where she started her career assisting with research at the U of M Institute for Social Research and Cognitive Neuroscience Lab.  She has served as a member of the AMA (Chicago Chapter) Market Research Committee, helping to educate members on the latest & greatest marketing research technologies & strategies.

  • What's your favorite thing about Market Research? What do you enjoy about Market Research? 

    Information design.  Figuring out how to communicate complex findings in a clear, concise and visually pleasing way that’s tailored to various audiences is always a fun challenge.

  • How did you get into the market research industry?

    I faxed my resume and cover letter to every business listing in the yellow pages falling under categories that interested me – from Art restoration to Zoos. I was living in NYC at the time, changing my mind about pursuing a career as a physical therapist, and had no clue what I wanted to do.  I had worked in psych research labs in college, so when I saw market research companies in the phone book, I decided to include them.  One of the first calls I received was from a fellow UofM alum who called me for an interview at a market research company and the rest is history!

  • What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?

    Baking bread. Any bread. Sourdough, country loaf, rye, challah… you name it.  The Japanese milk bread recipe featured in Baking From Scratch magazine blew my mind recently – it was SO GOOD. Highly recommend and would love to swap recipes with other bakers out there.

  • What's the best piece of advice you ever received?

    Pretend it’s a vacation.’  When I was debating whether to stay in NYC or move back to Chicago, my boss suggested this approach since a big change feels less daunting when you think of it as temporary. It worked – I made the jump and haven’t regretted it.
